  • Capturing the beauty of the original artwork

Every one of our prints is made using the Giclee printing process, for a museum-quality look and feel that does justice to the original art.

Giclee printing is the gold-standard for preserving the meticulous detail and stunning colors that we love in the Japanese masters. All our prints are fade and fingerprint resistant, so you can enjoy their beauty for years to come.

We chose to offer 12”x18” (30cm x 45cm) as this was closest to the “chuban” size sheets used for woodblock prints historically.

All of our prints come with matte finish for a more authentic appearance.

    Framing Options:

    • Unframed
    • Framed - black
    • Canvas wrap

    Ready-to-Hang and Made to Last

Mounting brackets are included and centered on our framed prints and canvas wraps.

All of our prints are made to last, with fade-resistant colors and materials. See how they arrive in the unboxing videos below.

  • About The Art

Katsushika Hokusai's Bay of Noboto is one of his striking works from his well-celebrated series Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji. Hokusai has vibrantly depicted this woodblock print conveying an amazing amalgamation of Mount Fuji and the Bay of Noboto. He has highlighted Torii which is a traditional Japanese gate established at the entrance of a Shinto shrine, where it emblematically marks the evolution from the earthly state to the consecrated state.

Hokusai has brilliantly portrayed this woodblock print retaining a marvelous spectacle where men and women are ecstatically collecting shellfish in the bay of Noboto. The human characters in the print are fabricated in such a way which makes the setting dynamic and the scenario lively by their animated actions. Hokusai has projected twinning technique where a couple of boats are navigated in the midst of the bay. The folks are doing identical action in pair; two of them are going back to the home carrying basket full of shellfishes, two of them are standing with empty baskets, two of them are searching and two children are playing. The remote and tranquil view of Fuji covered with white snow also contributes to the print a peacemaking scenario.

Beside the mountainous area the bay, Fuji, tori, and the folks create an amazing and appealing view which is so subtly tinted by Hokusai.
