• About The Art

  Katsushika Hokusai's The Kazusa Province Sea Routeis one of his astounding works from his renowned series Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji.Unlike his famous work The Great Wave off Kanagawa, having a boisterous view of the ocean, this one is painted by portraying a pacifying scenario of a motionless ocean having a brilliant amalgamation with Mount Fuji.

  This woodblock print portrays the full and front view of the huge wooden sailboats navigated in the static ocean. Hokusai has given it an amazing look by portraying small and a number of waves created by the two moving sailboats amid a calm ocean which makes it so realistic. With the front and occupied view of the two sailboats, Hokusai painted several distant views of sails, greenery, and the great Mount Fuji so exquisitely. 

  Hokusai so stupendously highlighted this masterwork by producing every single detail of the scenario which makes it so appeasing to see. This spectacular portrayal of a calm ocean has the sheer capability of casting a spell on the ocean lovers.
